Video Description
Today on Lug2Lug, Christian gets up close and personal with a stunning Tudor Yorke. Part of the English cities series by Tudor in the 50’s, the Yorke (alongside the Oyster London, Oyster Exeter) was introduced to honor the British market and, to no surprise, very few were made. The Oyster London is the most commonly found but even still, its no easy feat.
This example, with its black glossy dial, chapter ring, odd ball hour indices and radium lume, is the only of its kind I’ve ever seen. Its hands fall somewhere between dagger and syringe and, the way its dial interacts with the sun is just remarkable, unlike anything I’m used to seeing.
Its gold plate has worn on its finely cut lugs but still, luckily, the overall aesthetic isn’t compromised – it remains flat out incredible.
At 34mm, it wears beautifully. Thicker than a slim dress watch and sportier than a DJ but still perfect for proper attire – oxford shirt to suit and tie.
This is a stunning watch. A rare piece of Tudor history that I’m honored to wear, own and offer to you in the T&H shop!
