The 2021 Grand Seiko Hi-Beat Automatic SLGH005 "White Birch" has been awarded the GPHG "Men's Watch" prize. This 40mm stainless steel watch includes the new 9SA5 automatic caliber with an 80-hour power reserve, a full balance bridge and free sprung balance, an overcoil hairspring, two mainspring barrels, and a double-impulse escapement. The dial of the "White Birch" has been designed by Grand Seiko watchmakers to reflect the texture and color of white birch trees found in the Japanese countryside surrounding Grand Seiko's mechanical watch workshops. Water resistance is 100 meters, and a full stainless steel bracelet is standard.
